What To Expect

Following pickup from your hotel in Rio, board a comfortable vehicle for the trip to one of the city's famous stadiums. Each stadium can hold over 100,000 screaming fans and have hosted many important matches over the years, including the legendary Pele's last game and the 1950 World Cup.

During the months of May through December, twenty teams compete to win the Brazilian Championship, which determines the best team in the country. Rio's Cup and Guanabara's Cup, Rio's series that make up the city's Championship, are played each year between January and May. The winner of each cup will face off in the final games to become Rio de Janeiro' championship team. Both of these championship series mean that exciting games are on year round.

What an absolutely fantastic experience! From start to finish, the tour was flawlessly organized, leaving us feeling completely at ease and safe throughout. The guide's clear and concise instructions ensured we were always on track and fully informed. Our seats were superb, offering prime views. Journey back was seamless, rounding off an exceptional day with smooth transitions. Highly recommend this experience even for non football fans!

Best way to see a game

Even with no score it was a very exciting game. The fans are wild. I am very glad we decided to do a tour as it was a bit crazy. David was awesome. He picked everybody up at their hotels, drove us to the game and walked us in. He explained everything to us, showed us our seats and where everything else (food, restrooms) was. We had a meeting point at the top of our row and he was there the whole time if we had any questions. He walked us out safely, even going back to find two stragglers who got lost and drove us back to our hotels. He is very knowledgable and friendly and made the whole experience feel safe.

Truly confused by the good reviews because I’m really feeling like we got scammed. The time posted for the game was 930pm and the day before the game they contacted us and said they’d be picking us up at 130pm. We had a whole day planned in Rio and could not make this time. They refused to refund us and calling Viator customer service was also completely useless, so I’m now disputing with my bank. My other two friends went and said it was a complete rip off and terrible experience, not at all what was advertised. Really can’t believe Viator lets people get away with this

You had problems with pick up time because of another tour purchased for same day as match game and we did our best to help you while you just demanded refund for tickets that had already been purchased for you and could not be refunded. You were disorganized and blame us for it. Review is definitely not correct.

Total waste of money

1.5hr bus ride for a stadium 5 miles/20 minutes away. $220 for two people on this tour that supposed to have commentary and history of Brazilian futball. There was none. “Tour guide” was not engaging and snickered at our questions. We saw the tickets were $5 each and an Uber ride would had cost $18 round trip. So basically we spent $220 for a long and boring bus ride to get dropped off and left until picked up and returned home. This whole “tour” took six hours for something that had we done on our own, and gotten just as much or more out of it, would had taken less than 3hrs and cost 10x less. We felt like we got ripped-off and taken advantage of as a tourist.

Dear Luiz, good afternoon. you would not be able to access the cheapest tickets as they are reserved exclusively for registered fans (not for Tour Agencies like us). Your ticket alone cost more than 10x that price. You should also consider safety and organization, as those are very important issues in a football match. But I will speak to our guide about tour informations as your feedback does not reflect on our training. thank you .

A must if you like football

Was a great experience. Always wanted to visit the Maracana and so this ticked all the boxes. My only advice to the tour operator is to advise that collection timings are approximate as multiple pick up sites - we were picked up 45 mins after scheduled time, and were beginning to think no one was going to arrive.

Must do to see football in Brazil

We loved our trip to the football. Really needed local knowledge to navigate and Rio isn’t always the safest place so going with an organised group was a really great way to experience the football in Brazil. Great experience & a definite ‘bucket list’ event to see a game in the Maracana. The local team Fluminense won the match, the noise from the crowd was tremendous & the atmosphere was everything I expected it to be. Lucas V was our guide, he was excellent & his language skills were incredible, Lucas made our family feel safe & informed. The hotel pickup & drop off was seem less. A MUST do experience.

Fantastic experience that is a must do when in Rio. Tour guide, Miko, picked us up right on time, made the ride to the match enjoyable and explained everything we needed to know about the teams. The game itself was unlike anything I have ever experienced. Nothing that you can compare in US terms.

I had to change my out of my Vasco de Gama jersey to go into the stadium. At the gate no fans wearing a Vasco jersey were allowed thru due to safety concerns if they were mixed with the regular Fluminence crowd. Fortunately I had purchased a Pele jersey outside the stadium which I changed into at the gate and I used it to enter the stadium. My guide was great about it and held my Vasco jersey for me until after the match. The crowd was electric! Great game, great experience. David and his partner kept us safe and visited with us during the game. Also importantly David gave us his phone number for emergencies or in case we get separated from the rest of the group, which we did have to use, because we got separated from the group during my wardrobe change. Great experience. No on who visits Rio should miss it.
