Great tour for a Golden Gai first timer

Golden Gai is the highlight here. Our tour guide Ryuto was great. He did a little tour for us through Piss Alley, we went to an Izakaya bar for skewers (not sure the name), and then to Open Book in Golden Gai for lemon sours, and last to Bar Asyl for wasabi vodka shots and cherry blossom whisky. It was so much fun. I can't wait to go back to Tokyo again to spend more time here. While I'm sure anyone can figure Golden Gai out on their own, it was really nice to have a guide as this place could feel super overwhelming for a first timer.

We had a great few hours out with Celeste. She was very knowledgeable about the Shinjuku area and we explored the many alleys and back streets in a way that we couldn’t have achieved on our own. Ended up in a great little hidden bar drinking lemon sours. Certainly recommend to others.

Best nightlife tour of Shinjuku and Golden-Gai ever! Celeste knows bars only a local could find. If you want a taste of Shinjuku nightlife this is the tour for you. Not to mention she was an absolute delight and very knowledgeable! Would do this tour again in a minute!

Wow! What a truly a unique experience this was. We could never have anticipated anything like this. The hundreds of tiny, tiny bars that seat only a half dozen people at a time. The even smaller eateries serving grilled meats (it didn’t matter that we were vegetarians, just the walking experience was enough). The fabulous history of Tokyo and Shinjuku brought to life by our fantastic guide Uri. He was friendly, genuine, knowledgeable and very fluent in English. He knew all the right spots and I would highly recommend him.

Great tour! Celeste took us to several small bars that we never would have found on our own. She also gave us great tips on things to do the next day. It was kind of like renting a cool friend for the evening who knew her way around. My wife and I enjoyed chatting with her and learning about what it’s like to be an expat in Japan. Recommend.
