Master-class in pizza making, right from a terrific expert’

Matteo was an excellent teacher, taking the time to make sure each participant got the right amount of his attention. His obvious passion for authentic cooking Italian food coupled with his culinary expertise — honed over years of experience in a multi-cuisine career including a Michelin-starred Indian restaurant in London, made the three-hour session go fast yet productive. The outcome of our lesson was a delicious margharita pizza that was baked to perfection and tasted melt-in-the-mouth divine. Matteo’s a wonderful sense of humour helped make every one of us, including novices, feel comfortable and confident in our handiwork. The real value in the lesson was the way Matteo taught us some special skills: how to select the flour, prepare the ingredients and the right order to mix them, kneading and spreading the pizza dough, layering the toppings, sliding the pizza onto the spatula and into the oven. Just getting the ingredients and following a printed recipe is one thing. But, truly seeing a master at work and learning from him made this a very special class. Thank you, Matteo.

We had the most wonderful evening with Chef Matteo teaching us to make Pizza & Gelato! He was brilliant at including our 9 & 13 year old daughters in the process too! This was definitely a highlight of our trip & we'll be trying out our new found skills once we're home in NZ! Thanks Matteo!!

The perfect evening with the family! Alfredo and Matteo were awesome hosts & teachers making everyone feel special. Our kids of ages 16 & 20 did not look particularly forward to this activity but they had a blast and were truly happy with the experience and rated their pizza the best of all the pizza’s in our visit to Italy :). We would not have missed this!

Such a fun experience! We had our three kids with us (5, 8 and 11) and the instructor and assistant were wonderful. They kept the wine flowing and were really helpful with the kids. Food was delicious too!!

We used this class for business teambuilding, and the entire group loved this activity! Our instructor Kia was very patient and explained each step clearly with explanations of why we are doing what we do and why the specific ingredients matter. We had several people in our group who make their own pizza at home, and they will all be changing their ways after making such delicious pizzas! And we've never had better gelato. We drank Prosecco while watching Kia add just cream, sugar, milk, and fresh vanilla bean to make the gelato. We all got to make our own waffle bowls too. It was an unforgettable experience!

We had a great time with our kids in the pizza and gelato class! There were also other people in the class that were really fun which made the experience that much more enjoyable! I would recommend this class. The only recommendation I have is there should be more specific directions of how to find the location of the class. It is very confusing. We could not find it in the train station and were late to the class so we didn't learn how to make the pizza dough. That was a bummer! There was another family that had the same problem and arrived even later than us.

It was great, learned a lot about pizza and gelato. Learned how to make pizza dough and gelato, the chef was great and knew what she was doing. Explained everything very well and we made our own pizzas which was delicious. Then made fresh waffle bowls and had fresh made gelato. Everyone got wine and water. It was a great time and experience. A must go.
