I couldn’t ask for a better tour. This was a wonderful experience. I learned so much about the African culture here in Brazil. My tour guide Ana was great and even included a fun game during the tour. I had many questions and our guide was so patient with me and knowledgeable. I will recommend this tour to all of my friends.

Wonderful tour guide. Very knowledgeable about about events in that area. Learned a lot of things I never knew or heard of. The walking was easy and the time spent on the tour was well worth it 😄. Love the tour and would recommend all to take it 😄

Great tour! Damiana was a wealth of information about the historical events of slavery here in Brazil. It was moving to see the original wharf, and hear stories of what transpired here. This is an essential part of history, so anyone who comes to Rio needs to experience this and learn about the history of Brazil’s inhabitants. It definitely is a must-do tour!

This is one if the best tours I've ever experienced and I've done many. The guide Anajulia was so friendly, intelligent and entertaining. Her vast knowledge of african brazilian culture was so comprehensive and impressive. I learned so many fascinating things about the history of Brazil and the enslaved. She is an excellent storyteller and guide. The artwork and landmarks were interesting, heart breaking and beautiful. This unique perspective of the Africa diaspora as it relates to Brazil was an eye opener. I'm so glad I did this tour and met Anajulia.

Our tour guide, Damiana, was fantastic! We enjoyed this tour very much. It was very thorough and covered a lot of Black history in Brazil. Our tour guide was great at answering our questions, too. Some of the sites that we visited felt sacred, and there was an awareness from the tour guide to ensure in short, that we were being respectful. We got lucky and were the only couple signed up for the tour, so we basically had a private tour which made it even more enjoyable! I highly recommend a tour with Damiana!

This was an AMAZING tour. We loved it. Our tour was on Friday and we ended at a party in Little Africa. Our tour guide was amazing. She is very knowledgeable about the black culture/diaspora of Rio. This was one of the best tours we end on. We highly recommend it for EVERYONE!

Not worth $99 but it is an okay tour. Also be aware that transportation is one-way. I would've like return transportation and food sample options.

Damiana’s tour was full of insights I don’t think I could have learned any other way. Centered in Black protagonism, placing Black people at the center of their own story rather than as a footnote to dominant culture, this tour included sobering visits to sites important to the Brazilian slave trade, as well as the exuberance of Little Africa, where so much of what the world associated with Brazilian culture came into its full flower. I leave with a much deeper appreciation for Brazilian culture and history than I came in with. And as a solo traveler, I felt in great hands with Damiana.
