The views are good. The description didn't seem fully accurate. There wasn't much time made for grabbing food. You have to manage the open time to take in the views and eating and drinking

Worth it for a quick tour

The places we went to were very enjoyable and totally worth it. It was worth it to book a tour to see these 3 places as it was all done in a few hours. However, the guide provided very little information or context for all these places. It was also hard understand what was being said with the accent and the microphone system in the van. IT was pretty much like hiring a chauffeur to drive you around to see these places and not necessarily a tour guide. Would go again if you had to cover these places within a short time and not necessarily rely of the tour guide's commentary / information.

Great experience if you’re a bit rushed on time and want to make the most of your afternoon. Saw most of the sights in the afternoon and then did Sugarloaf at dusk. The views of the sunset and subsequent city lights were astounding. Would highly recommend this tour. Pickup starts at 12:30 pm and concludes around 9pm.

The guide forget me and leave me alone in the night to Rio. I was assisted very well from Viator but not from this travel agency The tour went well .. but not in the order and we couldn’t see the sunset promised as we arrived to late. I was really disappointed and stressed. I took a taxi to went back to the hotel. Usually I accept when things not go perfect but really here I don’t understand ! I respected the hours and they even didn’t try to call me prior to leave !

Nothing memorable. It was a below average experience. I would not recommed it at all. The guide spoke little english, engaged in discussions with the participants, we did not see the Cathedral, and we barely saw the sunset because she wanted to keep moving forward for her convenience.

The van came on time in front of the hotel but the air conditioning was not working. Imagine 7-8 people in a van at almost 40 degrees Celsius (100F) outside. There were 2 open windows but that was not enough. After an hour drive a replacement van came. The guide Alexia was doing her best but her bad English and the simultaneous translation to Spanish made the trip not so good experience. The price of the tour is fair to high. Beside the ride, it includes the entry fees to the Monument of Christ the Redeemer and the Sugarloaf mountain. Honestly I wouldn't recommend this tour to anyone.

Great tour but horrible guide

Great tour but our tour guide was horrible. She did not engage with anyone, was poor at communicating what was supposed to be happening and didn’t see, to know much of anything beyond what I could read in a tourist pamphlet! We saw all the sights and she kept us on scheduled but basically you just paid for a bus ride to the sights. I’d still do it again but on a day she’s not working. Her name was Thalita (sp?)

We had a wonderful time with on-time pickup and a very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and conscientious tour guide (Fred)! The stops were great giving us a glimpse of each neighborhood. The time flew by and wished we could stay a little longer at each stop. I could’ve spent the entire day with him! He knew exactly how to take our pics at Christ the Redeemer and showed us the best vantage point from Sugarloaf Mountain to view Copacabana, Ipanema and Botafoga beaches. Fred and his driver were very professional and I can’t thank them enough for a memorable sightseeing tour! Mahalo (thank you) for the Aloha in Rio!

Excellent way to get all the essentials in a short space of time

Fred was an amazing tour guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. The stops on the tour were a perfect way to see some of the key pieces of Rio in a short space of time. Even though it was 4-5 hours the tour didn’t feel rushed and gave adequate time for each stop. Just make sure you eat before or bring snacks!

The tour covered all of the "must see" in Rio de Janeiro. If you only have one day to see the highlights of Rio, this is the tour. Christ the Redeemer was quite crowded as we went on a Saturday, but what an amazing sight to see the statue up close. The Selaron Steps were very crowded also, but again worth the effort. If you want to experience the sights without taking photos of you and your fellow travelers, then you will have a much better time.

Good and Bad Review of Rio de Janeiro

Was very disappointing sunset, seen better sunsets in Hawaii, Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, Greece, Egypt. Sugarloaf was a worthwhile experience... nice cable car rides and panoramic views of Rio. Christ the Redeemer was very impressive due to its enormous size plus panoramic views; however, expect the crowd and people blocking the railing. The cathedral is unique, but not as impressive as Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. Selaron is an interesting experience with beautiful tiles and stairs up the hillside; however, expect the crowd and hardly any room to walk. We were in a mixed group with Brazilian family, group of girls (Espanic) and we USA. Disliked the mixed interpretations since we were not sure whether we all got the same message. Another company kept their groups linguistically separate, such, English whereby, Canada, New Zealand, and USA represented one group. The young Driver we had, was excellent in his driving, but needed to learn to stand by the door and assist people with getting in and out of the mini van to avoid liability similar to the well mannered Europeans.

Mixed experience on sunset tour

Interesting and well planned tour. In spite of lots of mist we saw everything and had a good time. However the tour guide ( Vanessa?) was Awful. Hopeless as a guide although good at keeping us Together and not losing anyone. She knew almost nothing beyond raw basics, only spoke when we arrived at destinations where she couldn’t be heard and said almost nothing when we were in the bus and could hear her well on her mike . We recommend firing her as a guide. Keep her as a nanny. Luckily the skies cleared up enough for good views from Sugarloaf. But no sunset!
